The 17 movies that made $1 billion at the box office the fastest, including 'Avengers: Endgame'
"Avengers: Endgame" opened over the weekend to an unprecedented $1.2 billion. It joins a club of $1 billion-making movies that have hit that milestone in less than a month. In "Endgame's" case, it only took five days. The movie opened in China on Wednesday, two days ahead of the US, and broke China's opening-day box-office record.
Another Marvel Cinematic Universe movie, "Captain Marvel," hit $1 billion earlier this month, but took 26 days. It took last year's "Avengers: Infinity War" 11 days.
"Infinity War" was one of five movies released in 2018 to cross the $1 billion mark last year year. "Captain Marvel" was the first to do so in 2019 before "Endgame" shattered all expectations.
